THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Aunglan District, Magway Region, inspected the construction progress of a rural production road and related work in Maukhon Village yesterday. The project is being implemented to help farmers transport agricultural produce from their farmlands to markets at a lower cost.

Aunglan District Department of Rural Development Head U Win Naing and engineering staff inspected the construction of a four-furlong-long, 12-foot-wide, and nine-inch-thick rural production road, and two slab culverts measuring six feet in length, 20 feet in width and six feet in height in Maukhon Village. He also met members of the village road committee and discussed the need to give priority to completing the work within the prescribed period.

The rural production road and related projects are being implemented with K97 million provided under the Union Fund. The project was launched in the third week of June this year, and about 20 per cent of the work has now been completed. — Cho Than Nyunt (Rural)
