ASEAN should be a more integrated, inclusive, and responsive community

Q. How would Myanmar be continuing to support the ASEAN Community-Building process?
A. ASEAN Leaders who adopted ASEAN visions, roadmaps, respective ASEAN Blueprints, the ASEAN Charter accordingly, and ASEAN member countries are committed to implementing those implementation mechanisms, are very crucial regard to building the ASEAN Community-Building process.


In light of this, Myanmar as a member of ASEAN would support creating a more seamless community in terms of drafting and developing the ASEAN Community Post-2025 vision and the new respective three blueprints to ensure tangible benefits to the peoples of ASEAN.


For the time being, ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community submitted the proposed core elements of the ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision in line with the new emerging issues to the ASEAN secretariat through the High-Level Task Force on the ASEAN Community’s meeting which was held in Bangkok, Thailand on 23-24 June 2022.


Q. How should ASEAN tackle the emerging challenges together with ASEAN Spirit?


A. ASEAN should tackle maintaining regional peace and security, further promoting regional integration and economic growth, advancing a people-centred ASEAN Community as well as increasing ASEAN’s resilience and ability in addressing emerging challenges together with ASEAN spirit.


Apart from this, ASEAN should be a more integrated, inclusive, and responsive community in advancing the implementation of emerging challenges pertaining to engagement with dialogue partners, development partners, international organizations, and other key stakeholders by strengthening ASEAN’s centrality and identifying fundamental challenges.
