ASEAN health ministers hold special video conferences on COVID-19

The Special Video Conferences of the ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting and ASEAN Plus Three Health Ministers Meeting on COVID-19 were convened on 7 April.
 

The Republic of Indonesia, in its capacity as the chair of the ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting, led the Special Video Conference of the ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting at 9 am, which was participated by ministers and deputy ministers for health, and officials.
 

At the video conference, Dr Mya Lay Sein, Deputy Minister for Health and Sports, delivered an opening speech, and representatives from respective countries reported on their countries’ healthcare implementations.
 

They also discussed exchanging capacity-building trainings, development of human resource for health, establishment of the State of Art Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, improving health information systems, rules and regulations for purchasing medicines, drugs administration and investments in export, import, and production of the medicine, medical equipment and cosmetics. Also present at the video conference were Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Health and Sports Professor Dr Thet Khine Win, Director-General of the Minister’s Office Dr Tha Tun Kyaw, Director General of Department of Health Professional Resource Development and Management Dr Tin Tin Lay, Director-General of the Department of Medical Services Dr Thi Thi Hla, and officials. — MNA
