Around 2,000 local visitors, tourists throng two CBT villages in Sagaing Region

Two community-based tourism villages in in Sagaing Region attracted 1,976 local and foreign visitors in 2019, said an official from Sagaing Region’s Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.

Local and foreign travellers visit two tourist attraction spots designated as community-based tourism in Ngwe Nyein Village in Kyaukmyaung Town and In Daung Village in Wetlet Township to observe the nature of Irrawaddy Dolphin, living style of marine workers and traditional pottery industry.

727 visitors—100 local travellers and 627 foreigners visited Ngwe Nyein community-based tourism in Kyaukmyaung Town while 1,249 visitors—834 domestic travellers and 415 globetrotters spent overnight stay in In Daung community-based tourim in Wetlet Township last year the figure from the DoHT showed.—Win Oo (Zeyar Taing)
