Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker attends States/Regions U-21 men’s football final

The final match and award-giving ceremony of 2020 States/Regions U-21 men’s football match was held at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, with Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw Mahn Win Khaing Than and wife Nan Kyin Kyi in attendance yesterday.


Sports and Physical Education Department of Ministry of Health and Sport, and Myanmar Football Federation jointly organized the U-21 men’s football tourney.

In the final match, Kayin State Team beat Magway Region Team with a score of 2-0, and won championship.


Following the final match, an award ceremony was held in which members of Amyotha Hluttaw Health, Sports and Culture Committee Dr Kyaw Ngwe and Daw Naw Sar Mu Htoo, members of Health and Sports Development Committee U Myint Lwin and Dr Khin Saung, and Kayin State Minister for Immigration and Human Resources U Min Ko Khine presented awards to best goalkeeper, best defenders, best midfielder, best forward and best player of the tourney.


Afterwards, Social Affairs Minister of Magway Region Dr Khin Maung Aye awarded individual medals and cash prizes to the second runner-up Chin State Team, and Deputy Minister for Health and Sports Dr Mya Lay Sein awarded to the first runner-up Magway Region Team.


The Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw awarded individual medals, trophy and cash prizes to the champion Kayin State Team.


The Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker and wife, the Deputy Minister and officials also posed for a group photo together with players of winner Kayin State Team.


In the morning, Chin State Team won Mon State Team with 4-1 in the third-place match.
A total of 15 teams participated in the men’s football tourney which took place from 28 January to 11 February.


Also present at the final and award ceremony were Ethnic Affairs Ministers of States and Regions, Hluttaw representatives, Director-General and officials of Sports and Physical Education Department, and football fans. —MNA
