THE Myanmar national futsal team has announced the names of 16 players who will participate in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship, which will be held from 21 to 27 October in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. Myanmar futsal team head coach U Htay Myint has selected 16 players for the tourney from a list of 20 players.
Kyaw Htet Aung from the Myanmar Imperial University F.C. and Zwe Pyae Sone from the GV Athletic F.C. have been selected as goalkeepers.
Of the remaining 14 players, eight have been selected from the Myanmar Imperial University F.C., five from the Victoria University F.C., and one player from the GV Athletic F.C.
The players from Myanmar Imperial University F.C. are Ko Ko Lwin, Kyaw Soe Moe, Naing Ye Kyaw, Pyae Phyo Maung (2), Pyae Phyo Maung (3), Khin Zaw Lin, Kyaw Kyaw Tun, and Hlaing Min Tun. The players from Victoria University F.C. are Myo Myint Soe, Nyein Min Soe, Aung Zin Oo, Wai Zin Oo, and Naing Lin Tun Kyaw, and Kaung Chit Thu has been chosen from GV Athletic F.C. Team Myanmar underwent special training yesterday on the turf of the Phu Tho Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City under the guidance of head coach U Htay Myint.
Myanmar has been pooled in Group A with Thailand, East Timor, and Cambodia. Team Myanmar will play their opening match for the AFF Futsal Championship 2019 against East Timor on 21 October, Cambodia on 22 October, and Thailand on 23 October.
