THE Myanmar U-19 national women’s football team will play against the China U-19 team to-day in the second Group B match of the AFC U-19 Women's Championship 2019 at the Institute of Physical Education (IPE) Stadium in Chonburi, Thailand.
Myanmar suffered a 5-0 loss against Japan in the opening match on 28 October, and China lost 1-2 to South Korea in their first match the same day.
As both teams faced a defeat in their previous match in Group B, they will be struggling to enter the semifinal stage of the Asian level tourney.
China, which placed third in the previous AFC U-19 Women's Championship, possesses experienced and fast players, who can get past their opponents with high-speed runs and fast deliveries.
In the meantime, led by head coach Daw Thet Thet Win, the Myanmar U-19 team has young talented players, some just 16 years old, and they put up a massive defense and midfield assist in the first half of their previous match against Japan.
Speaking about the upcoming match against China, the Myanmar U-19 team captain San Thaw Thaw said that the team is prepared for the next challenge. She said the Chinese team is strong and has quality players, and the Chinese squad would be different from team Japan.
The captain also said the team will take the lesson from the previous match against Japan and adopt the best tactics against China to get a good result.
