THE 9th Myanmar Coffee Cupping Competition will be held in June in PyinOoLwin (Local Round) and the United States (International Round).
The entry fee is K200,000 per sample, and participants can send an unlimited number of samples. Green coffee bean samples must be delivered to U Myint Soe Aung at the Myanmar Coffee Association in PyinOoLwin via 09 422234133 and 09 963681895 no later than 12 June.
Sample requirements are as follows: must have export-quality coffee beans weighing at least 200 kilogrammes; a representative sample weighing two kilogrammes; screen size must be 15 and above; must be sorted and free of defects; moisture content must be between 10 per cent and 12 per cent; and sample bags must include producer/farmer name, coffee variety, region of origin, elevation, processing method, lot size and contact information.
Five awards are arranged for the Fully Washed process and the Natural Dry process, and three for other process categories.
