31 more covid-19 cases were confirmed in Magway Region on Monday, bringing the total number of confirmed virus cases in the region to 2,226, according to the Department of Public Health.
There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The confirmed virus patients on December 15 were from Chauk, Minhla, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi, Minbu, and Magway Townships.
A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. Most of the virus patients are the truck drivers and their assistants, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.
Out of 2,226 confirmed covid-19 cases in Magway Region, 1,739 patients were discharged from the hospital, with five deaths.
