ACCORDING to U Zaw Min Tun, an official from the park, the 17th Flower Dreamland Festival will take place at the National Kandawgyi Park in PyinOoLwin, Mandalay Region, to commemorate the park’s 100th anniversary.

The event is scheduled to run from 14 December 2024 to 14 January 2025.

“The festival aims to establish a signature annual floral event that showcases seasonal flowers in creative and distinctive arrangements. It is designed to delight domestic and international travellers while boosting Myanmar’s tourism industry to global standards,” said U Zaw Min Tun. The event will promote Myanmar’s floral industry, raise environmental awareness, and support regional development.

The festival will feature eight exhibition zones, including one dedicated to local flower varieties. Approximately 200,000 flowers will be cultivated and artistically displayed. Visitors can enjoy month-long entertainment programmes, including music performances, magic shows, and dance displays. Special events will be organized for Christmas, New Year, and Independence Day.

In addition to the floral displays, the festival will host a garden fair offering consumer goods and food items. An exhibition zone will also be established for local products, plants, and flowers, supporting the local economy.
