At least 17 people were injured after two trains crashed in northeast Italy late Sunday, Milan-based daily Corriere della Sera reported.

At about 8:20 p.m. local time (1920 GMT), two trains collided on the Bologna-Rimini railway line in Italy's city of Faenza, blocking the railway traffic in the area, said the report.

All 17 people were lightly injured, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
