            Local residents in Thaegon Township, Nattalin District, Bago Region mainly depend on agriculture. In 2025-2026 summer paddy cultivation season, a total of 17,570 acres of summer paddy are targeted to cultivate with the aims of increasing the use of high-quality seeds, ensuring local food sufficiency and upgrading the agricultural sector. So far, a total of 10,654 acres of summer paddy have been cultivated.

            The farmers in the twonship cultivate the summer paddy using transplanting, drum seeders and transplanters and receive water through various ways such as dam closure systems, irrigation systems, solar-powered water pumping systems and creek closure systems. The local farmers mostly cultivate Yadanar Toe, Vietnam, 90-days, YSR (1), Manaw Thukha, Thai Hnankauak and Yaesin Pawsan.

            The Township Department of Agriculture is providing education on increasing yield rate, raising agricultural awareness and distributing fertilizer to the farmers to enhance the crop production.
