Yangon United suffers 3-1 loss to Hantharwady United

YANGON United faced a 3-1 defeat to Hantharwady United in a Week-11 of Myanmar National League match played yesterday at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. 


Head coach, U Myo Min Tun’s Hantharwady United, used its reliable players Nan Wai Min, keeper and captain Ko Ko Naing, Donal Bissa, Emeka Ndubuisi and Kekere Moukailou. 


In the meantime, head coach U Tin Maung Tun’s Yangon United lined up with key players including captain cum keeper Kyaw Zin Htet, Maung Maung Lwin, Yan Naing Oo, Kaung Htet Soe and Emmanuel. 


Both teams played with energy from the start, but Hantharwady United was more robust than their opponents for yesterday’s match, exhibiting flawless defence and good tackling.

In 39 minutes, Yangon United missed a goal opportunity as there was a big misunderstanding seen between Maung Maung Lwin and Barfo in front of the goal post. But, with another chance, Yangon United’s striker, Emmanuel scored an icebreaker over an assist of his teammate Maung Maung Lwin at 42 minutes. 


The first half ended with 1-0 lead by Yangon United. 


In the second half, the intensity on the field increased, and Hantharwady United launched their open attack with fast and furious plays. 


By taking opportunities over the freezing defence of Yangon United, Hantharwady Hein Htet Aung scored an equalizer at 52 minutes. Consequently, Hantharwady got a leading goal at 58 minutes and the goal was scored by foreign player Donald Bissa. 


The win was ensured for Hantharwady United with a third goal scored by Hantharwady star Emeka Ndubuisi at 81-minute mark.
