Village drinking water supply project completed in Butalin Tsp

Butalin, April 2

 

In order to provide access to pure drinking water for people living in Kanthit village in Butalin township, Sagaing region, a drinking water supply project was successfully completed with the cooperation between among UNICEF, village people and the township Rural Development Department, according to U Tun Tun Win, head of the said department.

 

The project includes digging a 450 ft deep tube well, construction of a pump house and a water tank with a capacit of 2400 gallons and laying water pipes measuring 3000 ft in total. Tube well digging works has completed yesterday. The tube well produces 2000 gallons of good quality water per hour. The works to lay water pipes from the tube well to the village will commence soon.

 

The project was implemented with the use of K 18.3 million in which K 16.3 million was provided by the government and K 2 million, by village people.—Po Khar (IPRD)
