Vehicles donated to Yangon Medical Centre

THE Myanmar-China Cooperation Centre honorary chairman and permanent chairman has donated 30 vehicles and 400 PPE suits to Yangon Region government for prevention, control and treatment of coronavirus disease, said permanent chairman U Thitsar of Myanmar-China Cooperation Centre yesterday.

 

Yangon Region Government Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein received 30 vehicles worth K3.08 million and 400 PPE suits, which were donated by Myanmar-China Cooperation Centre. Then, the chief minister gave a thankful speech and the honourable certificates to Mr Yu Jian Chen and U Thitsar, donors of the PPE suits and vehicles.

 

According to the wish of the donors, Yangon regional government will manage 20 vehicles for Medical Centre Yangon for prevention, control and treatment of coronavirus infection and remaining 20 vehicles will be used for Yangon Police Force.

 

Medical Centre Yangon is one of the main treatment centres under the supervision of the Yangon region government.

 

There are five wards in Medical Centre Yangon for the coronavirus-positive patients. Each ward has a total of 120 single rooms. Each ward includes air-con, toilet and bathroom.

 

Currently, the Medical Centre Yangon can render treatment to 600 positive patients. Moreover, the arrangements are being made to help cure more than 2,000 patients needed to receive the treatment. —Myint Maung Soe
