Undocumented Chinese nationals caught in Mogaung Township

Four Chinese nationals who illegally entered Myanmar have been caught in a vehicle search at a security checkpoint in Mogaung Township, Kachin State on 25 February, according to a source from the local police station.

An anti-crime squad led by Police Inspector Thein Myint from Myoma Police Station together with concerned departments intercepted a suspicious car at Mayan Kahtaung security checkpoint in Mogaung Township yesterday while performing law enforcement activities. They found four Chinese citizens aged from 29 to 54 years from Hunan Province, China in the car. The undocumented Chinese nationals crossed the border and entered Myanmar illegally.

The police also seized Chinese ¥ 1,533, Myanmar currency Ks. 220,000 and five mobile phones. The car driver identified as Aung Lin, 45 years old from Myitkyina and his colleague Aung Tun Min, 47 years of age were charged with transporting four Chinese citizens by the local police station.—Win Naing (Kachin Land)
