Uncut jade stones seized in Indaw Township

Illegal uncut jade stones were seized in a search operation in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region on 20 April.

 

Under the close supervision of the head of the township police force Police Major Khin Maung Thin, a police squad led by Police Sub-inspector Myo Thet Naing from Nabar regional police station intercepted a vehicle at Nabar junction on the Shwebo-Myitkyina Road in Indaw Township at about 9:25 p.m. based on a anonymous tipoff. They discovered different sizes of raw jade stones weighing 18.62 kilograms in the vehicle.

 

Action has been taken against the driver identified as Ko Ko Aung, Mahaaungmyay Township, Mandalay Region under the Myanmar Gemstone Law by the local police.—Lu Aung (Katha)
