Tree growing ceremony held in Taunggyi

A collective tree planting activity took place in the compound of Buddhist University in Taunggyi Township, Shan State yesterday.


With the aim of keeping the environment green, maintaining soil and temperature, officials from Forest Department led by Dr. Nyi Nyi Aung, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Shan State Government joined the activity and jointly planted about 500 saplings including pine trees, cherry-trees and bamboos in the compound of the University.


Altogether 78 people including Minister for Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Dr. Nyi Nyi Aung, officials and staff from the State Forest Department joined the activity.
