Traffic accidents kill 183 in Vietnam in lunar new year holiday

During the nine-day Tet (lunar new year holiday) which ended on Sunday, Vietnam saw 276 traffic accidents which killed 183 people and injured 241 others, according to the country's Traffic Police Department on Monday.

 


A coach crashed into a car in central Thanh Hoa province on Friday, killing three people and injuring five others in the car.

 


During the 2019 Tet, traffic police nationwide detected 21,880 cases of traffic law violations.

 


In 2018, Vietnam witnessed 18,232 traffic accidents which killed 8,125 people, seriously injured 5,124 people and slightly wounded 9,070 others according to the department under the Ministry of Public Security.
