Traditional medicine hospital launched in Nyaunglebin

An opening ceremony of a 16-bedded traditional medicine hospital was held in Nyaunglebin Township, Bago Region this morning.

The Chief Minister of Magway Region U Win Thein, the Lower House MP U Dr. Myint Thein, the Upper House Lawmaker Daw San San Myint, an official from the Department of Traditional Medicine and Township Administrator Naw Mai Hla Kyi cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the healthcare facility, sprinkled scented water on the stone inscription of the hospital and viewed round the hospital. Firstly, the regional chief minister gave an opening speech and an official from the Department of Traditional Medicine explained the purpose of the hospital. 

Next, a local traditional medical practitioner spoke words of thanks before the chief minister presented certificates of honour to donors. The healthcare structure measuring 124 ft. in length, 64 ft. in width was built with Ks. 154 million in the fiscal year 2015-2016 in accordance with the goals of the Department of Traditional Medicine under the Ministry of Health and Sports. 

The four-storey staff housing was also constructed at a cost of over Ks. 300 million for the employees from the hospital.

The hospital will offer healthcare services to not only local people in Nyaunglebin Township but also other areas from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily except public holidays.—Tin Soe (Bago)
