Torrential rainfall hit Dotphoneyan in Bhamo District, Kachin State this morning and it caused landslide on some sections of Bhamo-Myitkyina Road.
Due to the downpour, landslide occurred between 637-5 km and 638 km at about 8:30 am today. In addition, retaining wall near 652 km conducted by Power Five Star Co.Ltd collapsed and another retaining wall which is 50 ft in length, 20 ft in width and 30 ft in height between 653 km and 653.5 km was also destroyed by the heavy rain.
Town Administrator, officials from Department of Road and Fire Services Department and local community leaders made efforts to ensure traffic safety and traffic was resumed at about 9 am.
