The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 95 new cases of coronavirus infection on Monday.
It is the first time since July 8 that the daily tally of infections has been below 100.
The total number of cases reported in the Japanese capital now stands at 19,428.
Officials are calling on residents to take all precautions as the situation in Tokyo continues to be extremely serious.
They are asking people to refrain from traveling outside Tokyo or going to their hometowns, and to avoid group dinners.
