State Counsellor arrives in Busan to attend ASEAN- ROK Commemorative Summit

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, at the invitation of President Moon Jae-in, will attend the 30th anniversary of the Korea-ASEAN Dialogue Relations and the 1st Mekong-ROK Summit in Busan, the Republic of Korea.

The State Counsellor and her entourage were seen off at the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport by Union Minister

U Kyaw Tint Swe, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo, Deputy Chief of Mission Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) in Myanmar Mr Jung Yung Soo and officials.

During the visit by a special flight, the State Counsellor is accompanied by Union Ministers Dr Aung Thu, U Kyaw Tin; Deputy Minister Dr Min Ye Paing Hein, Vice Mayor of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee U Ye Min Oo and departmental officials.

Union Minister U Min Thu and party also took the same flight to attend the 2nd ASEAN-Korea Ministerial Roundtable and Exhibition on Public Service Innovation.

The State Counsellor and party arrived in Busan at 5:25 pm local time.

They were welcomed by Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Mr Lee Tae-ho and officials, Myanmar Ambassador to ROK U Thant Sin Maung and wife Nang Myat Soe, Korean Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Lee Sang-hwa and officials and their family members of Myanmar mission in ROK, together with the guard of honour of ROK at the Gimhae Air Base in Busan. The State Counsellor and party then proceeded to the Lotte Hotel for the stay, where Myanmar people in Korea welcomed them at the entrance of hotel. — MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
