Stake-driving ceremony for construction of Japan-funded bridge held in Hlaingbwe

A stake-driving ceremony for construction of Hlaingbwe-Kyarinn Creek Bridge was held at the construction site in Hlaingbwe Township, Kayin State this morning.

The bridge will be built under the financial assistance from Japan Infrastructure Partners (JIP) with a view to narrowing development gap between urban and rural areas, upgrading rural road transports, and improving socioeconomic status such as education, social, and health sectors of the rural people. At the ceremony, Chief Minister of Kayin State Daw Nang Khin Htwe Myint delivered an opening address and Vice-President of JIP Mr. Asakura Hajime explained matters relating to construction of the bridge.


Next, a village elder spoke words of thanks and the chief minister, Speaker of Kayin State parliament U Saw Chit Khin, the vice-president of JIP and a prominent Buddhist monk drove the stakes at designated places.
