Solar panels light up Bonchaung village in Wuntho Tsp.

Under National Electrification Plan, electrification project is being implemented in villages which are more than 10 miles far away from national gird by way of solar home system. 


Now, the installation of solar home system has been conducted in Bonchaung village, Wuntho Township, Kawlin District, Sagaing Region and local residents have access to electricity, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development. 


The installation works were inspected by officials from Township Department of Rural Development, Township Electrification Project and Township Quality Control Team on December 30.


In the village, there are 67 households and 25 pairs of 100 W solar panels and 12 pairs of 60 W solar panels were installed. The cost of the installation of 100 W solar panels is K 150,000 and the cost for 60 W is K 50,000. 


In addition, schools, religious buildings and rural clinic were also given solar panels and five lamp posts were set up in the village with the funds of the project.
