Slight earthquake shakes Pyay Twsp

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were reported following a slight earthquake which was recorded early this morning, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced.


An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar hit about five miles northeast of Pyay Township in Bago Region. It was recorded at 2:20 a.m. at a latitude of 18.86°N, and longitude of 95.28°E, with a depth of 63 kilometers and about 88 miles southeast of the Toungoo seismological observatory, said the DMH.
