Shwedagon Pagoda reduces pilgrimage hours to seven

The Shwedagon Pagoda reduced its opening hours to seven as part of precautionary measures against the Covid-19, according to the pagoda’s board of trustees.


The pagoda will be opened from 9am to 4pm daily starting from 25 March.


The numbers of people riding lift were also limited at the pagoda. Officials are checking the body temperature of individuals who visited the pagoda, donating masks and providing hand gels. Washing basins were also set up at the pagoda.


The pagoda is normally open to public about 18 hours daily from 4 am to 10 pm. _ MNA
