Seven houses burnt down in Ponnagyun Tsp

Fire engulfed seven houses in Hmohindaw village of Yoetayoke village-tract in Ponnagyun Township in Sittwe District, Rakhine state yesterday.
    

 

The fire is said to have started from an ember left in the house of U Aung Shwe Thein, 47, at 4. 05 pm yesterday, destroying seven houses and leaving 44 people homeless.
 

 

Shortly after the information received, fifteen firemen led by U Zaw Than Tun, head of the Township Fire Services Department rushed to the scene with two fire engines and two water trucks. The firefighters managed to put out the fire in 45 minutes.
 

 

Altogether 44 fire victims from seven households are being temporarily accommodated in a monastery in the village.— Township IPRD
