Second Amyotha Hluttaw 12th regular session holds 14th day meeting

At the 14th day meeting of the Second Amyotha Hluttaw’s 12th regular session held yesterday morning at Amyotha Hluttaw meeting hall, asterisk marked questions were raised and answered, bills discussed and a report on a bill read.

In the asterisk marked question and answer session, questions raised by U Soe Thein of Kayah State constituency 9 on action taken against illegal migrants caught entering/smuggled into Myanmar, U Kyaw Htway of Yangon Region constituency 8 on numbers of registered local and foreign employment agencies and action taken for over charging agent fees, U Aye Min Han of Mon State constituency 1 on a plan to increase issuing citizenship scrutiny card and household list (Form-10) in fiscal year 2019-2020 and a plan to ease the making of Form-10 for those who had moved from remote regions and U Ye Htut of Sagaing Region constituency 5 on a plan to establish management committee consisting of employer, employee, union and workers’ representatives to resolve labour issues were answered by Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe.

Questions raised by U Myint Naing of Rakhine State constituency 5 on a plan to construct a new school building for a school in Kyauktaw Township and U Ye Myint Soe of Yangon Region constituency 7 on a plan to open school, diploma course, college and university to teach food technology were also answered by Deputy Minister for Education U Win Maw Tun.

Hluttaw discusses bills

Following the asterisk marked question and answer session Myanma Communication Corporation Bill approved by Amyotha Hluttaw returned with amendments by Pyithu Hluttaw was discussed by U Win Maung of Magway Region constituency 6, U Than Soe @ Than Soe (Economic) of Yangon Region constituency 4 and U Soe Thein @ U Maung Soe of Taninthayi Region constituency 10. 2017 Land Confiscation Bill returned with amendments by Pyithu Hluttaw was also discussed by U Hsan Myint of Ayeyawady Region constituency 3.

Basic Education Bill Report read

Next, Bill Committee report on Basic Education Bill approved and sent by Pyithu Hluttaw with amendments was read by committee member Daw Nwe Nwe Aung of Mon State constituency 2.

Afterwards, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the report to register their names.

Finally an announcement was made of holding the 15th day meeting of the Second Amyotha Hluttaw’s 12th regular session on Wednesday 5 June. —MNA
