Rural road under construction in Matupu Twsp 55 % completed

Officials from the Department of Rural Development looked into construction of a rural road in Laykan Village in Matupi Township in Chin State on January 10.


A site engineer from a private company briefed about construction of the rural road and DRD officials called for timely completion of the project and urged those responsible for the project to focus on the quality of durability of the road. The new road will be 12870 ft. in length, and 14 ft. in width and being built at a cost of nearly 29 million kyats.


Construction of the rural road began on December 26 last year and the project is currently completed by about 55 percent. Once completed, the new road is expected to help local people transport their agricultural products to other areas in a convenient manner, according to the DRD.
