An inter-village bridge in Palaw Township, Taninthayi Region is being built by Bridge Construction Group-9 under the Ministry of Construction and it is about 40 percent complete, said an official from the construction site.
The bridge being constructed with the regional government’s funds in the fiscal year 2018-2019, is of the Bailey type and its lane is about 11 ft. wide. The bridge is 420 ft. long, 18 ft. wide and can withstand up to 12 tons of weight. Upon completion of the bridge, local people will be able to use the new bridge in all seasons with greater ease.
At the same time, the bridge will help improve socio economic status such as economy, education, health for the local people.—Htoo Wai Yan (IPRD)
