Pyidaungsu Hluttaw approves Myanmar acceding to ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement

At the tenth-day meeting of the Second Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s 12th regular session held at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw meeting hall yesterday morning, Hluttaw approves Myanmar acceding to ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement.

 

Joint Bill Committee report on Major Bridge Bill
 

In the first agenda of the day a Joint Bill Committee report on Major Bridge Bill sent by the President with comments was read by committee member U Zaw Win and Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the report to register their names.

 

Joint Bill Committee report on second amendment to the Settlement of the Labour Dispute Law
 

Next a Joint Bill Committee report on second amendment to the Settlement of the Labour Dispute Law sent by the President with comments was read by committee member U Nay Myo Tun and Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the report to register their names.

 

Hluttaw explained about National Planning Report and Union Budget Report
 

Afterwards Fiscal Year 2018-2019 first six months National Planning Report and Fiscal Year 2018-2019 first six months Union Budget Report sent by the Union government was read and explained to the Hluttaw by Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win. After each report was read and explained Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced that the findings and comments reports of Joint Public Accounts Committee were scheduled to be read, submitted and discussed.

 

Hluttaw discuss and agree to establishing diplomatic relations
 

Following this U Khin Cho of Hlaingbwe constituency, U Myint Lwin of Twantay constituency, U Kyaw Thaung of Sagaing Region constituency 1, U Ar Moe Si of Khaunglanphu constituency, U Maung Maung Ohn of Ayeyawady Region constituency 5, U Aung Thike of Seikphyu constituency, U Zaw Thein of Wakema constituency, Dr. Win Myint of Bago Region constituency 11 and U Tin Maung Win of Seikkan constituency discussed establishing diplomatic relations with Republic of Benin, Democratic Republic of Congo and Togolese Republic. Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin also discussed about the benefit of establishing diplomatic relations.
 

After obtaining the decision of the Hluttaw, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced the Hluttaw’s agreement on establishing diplomatic relation with the three countries.

 

Hluttaw approves Myanmar acceding to ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement
 

Later the matter of Myanmar acceding to ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement was discussed by Daw Nwe Nwe Aung of Mon State constituency 2, Dr. Thet Thet Khaing of Dagon constituency, U Than Soe @ Than Soe (Economic) of Yangon Region constituency 4 and U Hsan Myint of Ayeyawady Region constituency 3. Deputy Minister for Commerce U Aung Htoo also discussed the benefit of acceding to the agreement.
 

As Hluttaw decided to approve the matter, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced the Hluttaw’s approval on Myanmar acceding to ASEAN Trade in Services Agreement.

 

Reports on Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Union Supplementary Budget Allocation Bill
 

In the final agenda of the day Joint Public Accounts Committee Vice Chairman U Aung Min and secretary U Kyaw Soe Lin read, explained and submitted to the Hluttaw the committee’s legal and financial assessment reports.
 

Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the reports to register their names. Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker also announced further that Hluttaw representatives will discuss the reports as well as tabling amendment motions on 29 May while relevant union level organizations will respond to the discussions and decision of the Hluttaw will be made on 31 May.
