Police nab two alleged car thieves within hours

Police arrested two people for allegedly stealing a car in front of a hotel in Tachilek, Eastern Shan State, the local police station said.
    

 

A man identified as Ko Zaw Tun Oo informed the policemen from Myoma Police Station in Tachilek that his probox car which is parked in front of Ayarwun Hotel in Wankaung Ward was stolen at around 8:35 p.m. on 21 May. Upon receiving information, some policemen were dispatched to checkpoints in the township to intercept suspected vehicles in a timely manner. The police stopped a suspicious car near Eden Village on the Tachilek-Kenhtung Road and interrogated the driver and his colleague.

 


The driver identified as Sai Lone Shen, 20 years old and his associate Pyae Phyo Aung, 26 years of age confessed that they took the car without permission from a hotel in Tachilek. In connection with the case, the two men are currently being detained for questioning by the local police.—IPRD
