A fugitive who is wanted for drug smuggling was caught along with his wife in Thazi Township, Mandalay Region.
A local anti-drug squad led by Police Inspector Bo Ye together with eye witness raided the house of suspected drug dealers in Ward-3, Thazi Township on 8 April based on an anonymous tipoff. The police found two suspected drug traffickers and discovered 158 stimulant tablets, more than Ks. 1 million and paraphernalia in the house.
The two drug smugglers identified as Zin Paing Ye (alias) Ye Ye, 25 years old and Daw Htay Htay, 63 years of age have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the local police station.
