Paritta recitation ceremony held to inaugurate multi-purpose hall

A Paritta recitation ceremony to mark the launching of a multi-purpose hall was held in the compound of the local government in Monywa, Sagaing Region this morning.

At the ceremony, a congregation led by Chief Minister of Sagaing Region Dr. Myint Naing opened the ceremony by reciting “Namo Tassa” three times and received the “Five Precepts” from Chairman of Sagaing Region Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Sayadaw of Oakkan Tawya Monastery Baddanta Manita.  

Afterwards, the chief minister, his wife, regional ministers and concerned officials donated offertories to members of the Sangha. Then members of the Sangha recited the Paritta. Next, the congregation shared the merits gained and the ceremony concluded with the three-time recitation of “Buddha Sasanan Ciran Tittahtu,” (May the Sasana endure foreover).

The local government-owned multi-purpose hall was built by Htike Htike Win private construction company at a cost of Ks. 392 million.—Tun Ko Ko (Yinmabin)
