Myothit, 2 July

An overloaded vehicle checkpoint is being built near milepost 42 on the Nay Pyi Taw-Myothit-Kanbya-Magway Road in Myothit Township for the sustainability of the road.

The Nay Pyi Taw-Myothit-Kanbya-Magway Road is being used by hundreds of vehicles on a daily basis and the vehicles would be regulated by prohibiting them from overloading for sustainable use of the road, according to an official from the Department of Road under the Ministry of Construction. The overloaded vehicle checkpoint is under construction with use of K 90 million allocated by the local government.

Construction of the overloaded vehicle checkpoint began on March 1 and is reportedly slated for completion by 30 September.
