Opium weighing 2612.8 grams seized in Pinlebu

As many as 2612.8 grams of opium were seized near Mawlin village, Pinlebu Township, Sagaing Region.

Acting on a tip-off, local police members led by Police Sub-Inspector Lwan Wai Aung from Pinlebu Myoma Police Station together with witnesses searched a motorbike, driven by San Htwe and Myint Zaw, the pillion rider on Pinlebu-Banmauk highway near Mawlin village and seized opium weighing 2612.8 grams worth over K 7.8 million.

The local police station has filed charges against San Htwe and Myint Zae of Natyetwin village, Indaw Township under Section 19-A/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. –Lu Aung (Katha)
