To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Yangon University, old stamps, coins and bank notes are on display at the Recreation Centre at the university.
The stamps, issued in honour of world famous leaders, Nobel prize winners and in commemoration of special days and celebrations, are on display.
These ancient coins, dating through successive years from the time of the Pyu era to the current day, along with old bank notes, have attracted visitors and students.
The exhibition is jointly hosted by the past and new generations of the universities’ hiking and trekking association, as well as private collectors.
“The purpose of the exhibition is to tell the people about the changes in history through stamps, coins and bank notes,” said Daw Swe Swe Ohn, Lecturer at Yangon University’s Department of Chemistry and Secretary of the Universities’ Hiking and Trekking Association.
