Officials inspect completion of rural production road in Thongwa Twsp.

With the aim of ensuring swift flow of commodity and saving time and money, the construction work of rural production road has been begun since the fourth week of July, 2023 in Bantbwe Village in Thongwa Township, Thanlyin District of Yangon Region.

The road measuring 1 mile and 1 furlong in length, 18 ft. in width and 3 ft. in volume and a slab culvert which is 24 ft. long and 14 ft. wide on the road was constructed by a tender winning company with K 135.87 million allocated by the regional government for 2023-2024 FY.

Officials from the Township Department of Rural Development made a field trip to inspect the completion of the road on 29 March.  During the inspection tour, officials met with village elders and members of the village development committee and stressed the importance of quality construction and maintenance.

The road benefits 1300 acres of farmland of 843 local people from 220 households in the village, helping them transport agricultural products to the markets in a timely manner, according to an official from the Township Department of Rural Development.—Maung Khaing(DRD)
