Nippon Foundation-funded school facility handed over to Education Dept. in Hsiseng

A ceremony to hand over a new school facility to the Department of Education was held at a basic education middle school (branch) in Kontha Village, Hsiseng Township in PaO Self-Administered Zone in Shan State on 14 December.


At first, the new school structure was formally opened by Chairman of PaO Self-Administered Zone Leading Body U Khun San Lwin, Shan State MP for Hsiseng Constituency U Khun Hla Thein, Township Administrator U Aung Naing, Assistant Director from the Border Areas and National Races Development Department, Township Education Officer U Soe Thit and Project Director from Nippon Foundation Daw Aye Aye Thant by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.
     

Concerned officials then gave speeches and the project director of Nippon Foundation handed over documents relating to the school building to the township education officer. A local also spoke words of thanks.
    

The one-storey school facility measures 90 ft. in length, 30 ft. in width and built with nearly Ks. 69 million in which Ks. 58. 6 million was contributed by Nippon Foundation while the remaining Ks. 10.28 million was donated by local people.—Khun Ye Htwe (Hsiseng)
