New healthcare facility inaugurated in Shwebo

An opening ceremony of a four-storey building was held in the compound of a public hospital in Shwebo, Sagaing Region on 13 March.

 


Chief Minister of Sagaing Region Dr. Myint Naing, the commander of the North-West Command and donors pressed a button to launch the healthcare facility and sprinkled scented water on a stone plaque. Those present also had a documentary photo taken and viewed round the new healthcare structure.

Speaking on the occasion, the regional chief minister said that the government has been upgrading public hospitals in order to offer better healthcare services to people, supplying public hospitals with modern medical equipment and appointing medical staff including the doctors. He also expressed thanks to benefactors for donation and construction of the healthcare facility.

 


Next, patron U Kyaw Zeya explained the purpose of donation and handed over documents relating to the healthcare structure to Dr. Win Lwin, an official from the Department of Public Health. Afterwards, the regional chief minister presented a certificate of honour to donor and Medical Superintendent Dr. Maung Maung Soe spoke words of gratitude.

 


The newly-opened healthcare structure is of reinforced concrete facility and measures 71 ft. in length, 35 ft. in width and 50 ft. in height. It was built with Ks. 185 million donated by well-wishers from Mandalay and Ks. 35 million allocated by the government totaling Ks. 220 million.—Tun Ko Ko (Yinmabin)
