New directorate of MOEA inaugurated in Ayeyawady Region

A ceremony to launch a new directorate of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs in Ayeyawady region was organized at the new building in Ward-13, Pathein.

The ceremony was formally opened by Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Naing Thet Lwin, Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Hla Moe Aung, Minister for Kayin Ethnic Affairs Ga Moe Myat Myat Thu and Minister for Rakhine Ethnic Affairs U Tin Saw. The attendees looked round the photos of national races on the displays. 

Afterwards, the Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs and the Regional Chief Minister made remarks. Director-General of the Department of Protecting Ethnic Rights Dr. L2 Main Gaung clarified the salient points of the new building. Afterwards, the Union Minister presented K 600,000 each to Kayin and Rakhine dance troupes that entertained at the opening ceremony.

The newly constructed one cost K 341.96 million 2017-2018 fiscal year. The RC building was constructed by Special Building Team-15 from the Department of Building. It is the fourth of its kind in regions and states.
