Myanmar migrant workers returned to Myanmar

Altogether 22 illegal Myanmar migrant workers who worked illegally in Thailand were handed over by Thai authorities to their Myanmar counterparts. The hand-over took place at No 2 Myanmar-Tachileik friendship bridge in Tachileik yesterday.

 

The Thai authorities handed over the Myanmar migrant workers who were without proper documents to Myanmar and accepted by Myanmar departmental officials and local authorities of relevant departments and underwent medical check-ups before sending them to their natives by the help of the District General Administration Department, Immigration and Population Department, Anti-trafficking in Person Division of Myanmar Police Force, Labour Department, Caring and Negotiating Committee for Myanmar Citizens In Mae Sai, Thailand (CNCMC).

 

Altogether 428 illegal Myanmar migrants workers—288 male, 160 female and 20 children—were handed over by the Thailand to Myanmar between 1 January and March 15 this year.—Sai Aung Zaw Lin
