Myanmar migrant workers handed over from Thailand

Two Myanmar migrant workers were repatriated by Thai authorities to Myanmar authorities at Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge-2 in Tachileik, Shan State (East) yesterday afternoon.

 

They were handed over by Immigration Officer from Mae Sai and officials from the Department of Immigration, General Administration Department, Anti-Trafficking Police, members of Caring and Negotiating Committee for Myanmar Citizens (CNCMC) received the two migrant workers.

 

With the help of medical staff from the Department of Health, the officials conducted a thermal screening on those whether they were infected with the coronavirus.

 

The migrant workers were sent back due to the expiry of their cross border pass and illegal stay in Thailand without proper documents.
