26 January

The Myanmar national women’s team suffered a 1-2 loss to the Thailand women’s team during an International Women’s Friendly match played at Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Mandalay yesterday.

The match was a team Myanmar preparation for the third round of the women’s Olympic Qualifiers, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.

Both teams made many substitutions from the start, as the match was a friendly type.

In fact, team Myanmar dominated over Thailand throughout the match, but Myanmar players did not use nearly all the chances to score, and the Thai team relied on an attack back style, taking advantage of most of their scoring opportunities.

The leading goal for the Thai team was scored at 16 minutes, and the second goal at 21 minutes.

The two goals upset some Myanmar players, as they missed many of their chances for goals when they attacked.

The first half ended with a 2-0 lead by team Thailand.

The second half saw defense style play by the Thai team, while Myanmar continued with a striking style.

The match saw no goals till 80 minutes, as Myanmar veteran winger Khin Moe Wai’s kicks hit the goal bar twice.

The lone goal for Myanmar was scored by substitute player Win Theingi Tun at 85 minutes.

Team Myanmar received a penalty kick just before the match ended, but the kick by Win Theingi Tun was blocked by the Thai keeper, ending the scoring with a 1-2 loss to Thai team in the friendly match.
