Myanmar included among top 10 Asian teams in FIFA Women’s Ranking

The Myanmar women’s national football team is currently among the top ten Asian teams, with a 44th world ranking, according to the FIFA announcement released on 13 December.


Myanmar has taken 45th position in the world ranking in November, and now has increased one ranking to 44th, with 1527 total points. Also, two ASEAN football teams, Viet Nam and Thailand, are included in the top ten list.


Team Viet Nam is currently in sixth place among the best Asian teams, with a 32nd world ranking and 1665 total points, while Team Thailand is following Viet Nam in seventh place, collecting 1620 total points and 38th in world ranking.


Australia remained the best team in Asia, with a 7th world ranking, while Japan is the second best Asian team, with a world ranking of 10.


North Korea’s team is the third best among Asian teams, with an 11th world ranking, and China’s team is the fourth best in Asia, ranking 15th in the world.


Meanwhile, South Korea is in sixth place, ranked 20th in the world, and Chinese Taipei is in eighth place in Asia, ranked 40th in the world.


The women’s football teams of North Korea, South Korea, Viet Nam, Myanmar, Australia, China, Thailand and Chinese Taipei will compete in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Final Round Qualifiers in February 2020.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
