Myanmar, Britain to promote bilateral ties

Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin received H.E Sir Simon McDonald, Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of Britain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.


They had in-depth discussions on a wide range of issues, including relocating the British Embassy in Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw, strengthening bilateral relations between Myanmar and Britain, and providing developmental aid to Myanmar by Britain. The two sides also exchanged views on challenges faced by Myanmar in its transition period and the Rakhine issue.


The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
