Myanmar attends 2nd meeting of Myanmar-Russia Joint Anti-Terrorism Committee

The second meeting of the Myan­mar-Russia Joint Anti-Terrorism Com­mittee was held yesterday at the Minis­try of Defence of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

 

The meeting was attended by Lt- Gen Kyaw Swa Lin of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), senior military officers who are members of the committee, Lieutenant General Matovnikov Alexander Anatolyevich of Russian Armed Forces and committee members.

 

Lieutenant General Matovnikov Al­exander Anatolyevich made an honorary speech for the 79th anniversary of Myan­ma Armed Forces Day and Thingyan Festival, which will take place soon, and expressed gratitude for the cooperation between the two militaries.

 

Then, Lt-Gen Kaw Swa Lin extend­ed thanks for welcoming the delegation of Myanma Armed Forces and highlight­ed the sector-wise cooperation between the two militaries and rapid response to terrorist attacks through collaboration.

 

The parties also discussed the an­ti-terrorism measures in detail and the enhancement of bilateral ties and co­operation between the two militaries through strategic cooperative partner­ship.

 

The Myanmar delegation joined the lunch hosted by Lieutenant Gener­al Matovnikov Alexander Anatolyevich. — MNA/KTZH
