Mumbai becomes 1st Indian city to cross 20,000 positive cases of COVID-19

Mumbai has become the first Indian city to cross the 20,000 mark of novel coronavirus cases after adding 1,185 positive patients on Monday and taking the total tally in the city to 21,152 cases, as per the official update by the city's governing authority.

 

This is the second consecutive day when India's financial capital has reported over one thousand positive cases in a single day after reporting 1,571 positive cases on Sunday, as per the statement by BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation said.

 

The city reported 23 deaths on Monday, taking the total tally of casualties to 757.
