Man killed in train-car accident in Toungoo

Two men were seriously injured when a train struck the motorcar they were on, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 


The accident between the train and a car carrying 0.71 tons of hardwood occurred at about 10:40 a.m. on 4 May near a level junction between Kyaytaw and Toungoo railway stations near mileposts 161/5 and 161/6 on the Yangon-Mandalay railroad. The motorist identified as Nay Myo Aung (alias) Chet Gyi hit the train while they were crossing the level junction. The injured man was later pronounced dead on arrival at a public hospital in Toungoo.

 


The police confiscated the timber and the deceased will be taken action under the forest law.—MOHA
